HERETIC 27.75″ x 7.75″ (70.5 cm x 19.7 cm)
Constructed of Canadian Maple and Fiberglass • Flex rating: Stiff
Seismic founder Dan Gesmer’s signature model, and an ode to his innovative skating¹ as a 1980s flatland freestyle pro. The Heretic is a progression on the shapes that Dan hand-made for himself during his contest and performing days. Deceptively simple, but with highly-refined shape and contouring for maximum power and control on a small board. It’s designed to excel at your own unique rule-busting mash-up of carving, cruising, pumping, fluid styling, and classic rolling maneuvers like spins, wheelies, and handstands.

¹ As a young skater in the 1980s, Dan did a deep dive into older movement art forms including dance, ice skating, gymnastics, and yoga. He then took concepts and techniques from those realms and worked to adapt them to four wheels. His goal was to create an expanded, more classically artistic vocabulary for flatland freestyle skateboarding, grounded in the fundamental gliding and turning maneuvers developed in the 1960s and 1970s. Extremely controversial at the time, his innovations helped set the stage for the emergence of longboard dance and freestyle decades later.
² Seismic’s 146mm Old School Square Tail Skid Plate fits best. If necessary, use a rubber mallet to pound the supplied rivet nuts into the pre-drilled holes.
