Spanish skateboard racing legend Diego Poncelet became the fastest downhill skateboarder in history in late September 2026, when he set a new Guinness Book of World Records mark for top speed by rolling 94.34 mph (151.83 km/h) down the famous Route du Port hill in Les Éboulements, Quebec, Canada.

Diego used Seismic 90mm Megawatt prototype wheels and Fullspin 7-Ball Pro Spec bearings to best the prior record holder, the late Pete Connoly, by a full 3.5% margin.

“Next-level wheel and bearing tech was mission-critical,” said Poncelet. “Seismic poured a custom run of Megawatt wheels specifically for this record attempt, using a prototype ultra-high-rebound urethane compound. Combining these wheels with Seismic’s state-of-the-art ceramic bearings helped me squeeze every last bit of speed out of the hill. I broke my personal best on the very first test run, and I reached 151.83 only a few runs later!”

Other aspects of Poncelet’s meticulous preparation included extensive wind-tunnel testing to perfect his tuck; specialized strength and mobility training; and custom development of aerodynamic helmet, speed suit, and shoes.

“We’re beyond stoked that Diego chose Seismic for the mission-critical components of his record-smashing setup.” – Daniel Gesmer, founder and owner of Seismic Skate Systems
