Machined from premium bearing steel and given advanced heat treatment, Tekton Precision-Profiled XT (Extra-Tough) Steel Spacers have extra-wide ends that square up against classic (non-built-in) bearings with nearly 60% more surface contact – aligning the bearings far more stably than traditional thin-tube spacers formed of much softer iron or aluminum (which can actually compress and deform under the stresses of modern downhill and freeriding).

The resulting optimized alignment means:

Spacing / Alignment Systems

Built-In: Integral half-spacers square up and self-stabilize inside wheels. Extra-wide contacts on XT models (U.S. Pat. #9,126,101) align bearings better than any other system – even correcting for off-spec axles and misaligned bearing seats. Inner race extends 0.5mm outside, eliminating need for axle washers.

Classic: Precisely-sized free spacers square up against bearings and stabilize them inside wheels. Premium Ceramic models include Profiled Steel Spacers with extra-wide contacts – a Tekton innovation that brings a revolutionary new level of durable alignment to free-spaced bearings. Body Constructions

XT (Extra-Tough): Superior steel and thicker outer casings PLUS ultra-premium heat treatment that fully optimizes steel’s microstructure and catapults strength 50% beyond ordinary bearings!

Tekton’s much stiffer, tougher casings resist flexing, spin truer and faster, and keep seals from popping off on extreme impacts. Ball raceways hold smooth polish, and bearings stay tight and fast, for far longer!

7-Ball: Best overall balance of speed and resistance to frequent high impacts and side loads.
